So the saying goes...better late than on April Fool's day! At last and without any more delays our first online issue of 34thParallel. We have a mixture of fiction, short fiction and poetry for you to read--some brand spanking new and some from our previous print issues. As everything we do, it is a work in progress; we are still working through release dates and the like. We hope to be able to publish more authors, more up and coming cutting edge material, and more photography, art, and comics. So we invite you to enjoy the works we've published and check back often.
Recently we've become members of CLMP (the Council on Literary Magazines and Presses). We're excited about it! AND!!!! 34thParallel Issue 3 (print version) will soon be available to preview and purchase. We hope you'll get a copy and tell your friends to as well!
Engoy!

ISSUE 2 ~ AVAILABLE NOVEMBER 1!!!
From now on our issues will be known by their number and not the month they are released. BIG SMILE. Thanks to every one for their patience--we hope this means you'll get your very own copies either by downloading them or getting a printed copy--you can get both from our website.
Lot of great stuff--we plan to get better and better with each issue. AND YES!!! WE HAVE THE ER FLASH CONTEST WINNERS!
In addition to this--since editors are usually writers too--we've got writing from and interviews with some of the hottest (yes, hottest) indie journals around! Be sure to read each one as they give us insight about what they look for in submissions and what they prefer writing or editing. This time editors from SKIVE, BluePrintReview, HOBART, Mud Luscious, and 55 Words paid us the honor of answering more than a few questions.
We'll keep this feature going for as long as folks will talk to us and let us send them questions about what they're doing. And if you have a magazine you are just dying to know the ins-and-outs about directly from the editor...drop us a line
and let us know. We're always looking for leads.
Well, we appreciate everyone's patience!!! Look for the magazine NOVEMBER 1st--Thank you in advance for your support!

34th has one goal:
We seek to promote and publish the exceptional writing of new and
emerging writers sometimes rejected and or overlooked. We believe that
rejections are not necessarily an indication of the merit of an author??s work.
Guidelines:
Send us your best previously unpublished work-- fiction up to 2500 words 4 to 6
poems in an attachment or in the text of your email to submissions@34thParallel.net
Due to overwhelming popular demand--we send rejection letters, we understand you
want to know what happened with your story. Understand if we decide not to use your submission, we always want you to submit again!
Feel free to resubmit other work if we don't decide to use your submission. Our review time is 2 to 4 months--Simultaneous submissions accepted, just let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere. Contributors receive a copy of the magazine and all rights to the work remain with the author. Submissions are accepted year round and only via email.
We look forward to reading your work!
