Alabaster McDougle (Shawn Terreri) was concieved in the back of a 1969 Chevy Nova and birthed in the back alleys of South Philly. At age 14, while attending Roman Catholic High School, he first got into poetry and proceeded to fail english...twice. Later, as a college drop out, he elected to sneak into bars for open mics, get drunk and cause a scene. From there he has been featured on WHYY, Power 99, WURD, and PeaceTV. He has performed at over 100 venues in the tristate and is now, with his poetic super group "the Collective", the resident poet at Philly's Arts Garage.
