Annabelle Franklin was born and educated in Cardiff, South Wales, where she made valiant attempts at respectability in the fields of business, medicine and teaching. She then tried Bohemia with its attendant rock bands, experimental theatre groups and spiritual awareness courses. Finally she crash-landed on the beautiful and inspirational Gower coast, where she spent several years teaching music, playing in rock bands and writing books inspired by her mis-spent youth. â??Dandy & Sparky in The Rock Festivalâ?? â?? illustrated by the author â?? is the first in the series. Annabelle is an enthusiastic member of ACTSwansea, a local actorsâ?? and writersâ?? group. She has written for â?? and appeared in â?? the Wednesday Play-Offs at Swanseaâ??s Dylan Thomas Centre. She has also appeared in Funkette!, a musical by Lorraine King and Binda Singh, which was performed at the Dylan Thomas Centre in March 2007. Annabelle lives near Swansea with a rescued Greyhound crossbreed. She is currently working on the screenplay for a short film taken from one of her novels.
