I come from Irvine in Scotland. I have since moved to Northern Ireland. I only discovered I could write poetry in June 2006.
It's a bit of a strange story. My father passed away earlier in the year and I missed him so much, I put my thoughts down on paper. Well low and behold I had written a poem. I had never written anything before.
I decided to give it a try and have now wrote several on all different topics. My style can be childlike in a way and I love to write poetry for children. I also write romantic poems. My poems tend to rhyme, just my way of writing I suppose, we all have our own style. I would not say that one style is better than the other, just different ways of writing.
