Born in the Netherlands, lived in the US for 2 years (96/97)and now living in Switzerland, I can speak and write german, dutch and in english fluently, but i prefer to write in the last of those three.
I developped a liking for poetry at the age of 14, two years ago, and started writing myself soon afterwards. My first attempts were humorous, short lyrics, written in german they greatly amused my classmates who were my only audience at the time. The year after that i started reading more sophisticated works, including Poe, Lovecraft, Shakespeare, Milton and Nietzsche, in three and a half (sometimes i read a bit in french, but only very seldom) languages. Around this time the spark of delight i felt for english came to life again, and i started writing english lyrics for my band (of which i am vocalist and keyboardist, aswell as main songwriter). Last month, august of 2006, i also started writing cd-reviews (heavymetal music).
I have also written a few philosophical prose works in the past, but i am planning to focus more on lyricism in the future.
