Tobias Benedetto was born in 1981 and grew up and lives in London.
He was educated at the University of Sussex to the level of BA Social Anthropology.
He has worked in several different jobs and is currently employed as a Research Analyst and as Editor of MEAT, an independent fiction journal.
He has travelled extensively around Europe, America and Asia, and is involved in several very active groups dedicated to creating various sorts of art and socio-political activities.
MEAT currently takes the form of a low-budget samizdat magazine with over 40 contributors and 200 subscribers internationally. MEAT has good long-term financial backing and is set to explode in the future, while production is dedicated to steering clear of commercialisation.
T. B.'s writing attempts to be as controversial as is necessary and he doesn't have any qualms about being unpleasant or unethical, but touches of beauty and fairness are also demonstrated.
T. B. is interested in writing fiction, criticism, and journalistic articles, as well as letters and correspondences.
His literary influences include Herman Hesse, Walt Whitman, Samuel Beckett, George Orwell, Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, William Burroughs, Stewart Home, Iain Sinclair, Peter Ackroyd, John King, Irvine Welsh and Alexander Trocchi.
