Carolyne Whelan was born in Boston, MA, and moved to New Mexico in 2000. There she received her BA in creative writing, plus First Prize for Poetry two years in a row. After extensive travel around the world, she settled in Pittsburgh, PA, where she is working on her MFA in poetry and travel writing. She has been published in Glyph, SHINE, Soup, and Urban Velo. She lives with her dog, Major Tom.
