I grew up in small towns in quiet places. My youth and young adult hood were spent with good friends and family. My children have grown and done well. I and my wife of 34 years live in lush Western Oregon. It is a place of dream-like beauty. Time has been somewhat unkind to me, however. Decades of declining health and persistent mental illness have been a constant challenge. Writing has become a place of refuge. I spend a lot of time now hunched over my keyboard in thought.
