I wrote an essay in seventh grade on "The Meaning of Freedom" which my teacher loved so much that she sent it to someone in the US Congress. I don't know whom it was sent to but I received a postcard back with the US Congress seal on it which praised my essay. As a recent immigrant from India, this letter had priceless value to me and it was at that moment that I decided to become a writer. Life, however, sidetracked me from this goal but I never stopped writing. I currently write a monthly column for a local arts magazine, MissionArts.org, and have some other publications to my credit.

Iā??m currently working on a novel and write poetry, short stories, and personal essays.
