I'm a writer by trade. Well I'm not, I work in the rotten world of I.T., but writing is all well and good. Do I care if servers are up or down, visible on the network or have up to date patching? Not really, as long as whatever it is stops the phone ringing, that will do me. If setting them on fire with a litre of petrol whilst wearing purple and yellow underwear stops the phone ringing, then that's ok with me. If it takes me kidnapping one of the company I work for's customer's children and zapping them with a high powered electronic cattle prod, making them scream like a dying badger . . . if it takes that to stop the phone ringing I'd give it a bash. I'd be polite about it of course. No need for bad manners in this world. There's too much un-necessary rudeness in the world. Like people in shops who don't even speak to you. What's what about hey? Anyway I appear to have gone off on one so back to the writing, I've been writing a book for a while, well I've had the idea for years but got around to doing it about two years ago. I've finished the first draft and just taking a small breather (is a year small?) to get back into the thing and get it finished. It's a great book about the vicious media and the like and how generally life is a bitch, or not even, and it has nothing to do with how good or bad you are. It just is and live with it. But the stories good. Booze, sex, drugs and a bit of extreme violence is in the mix. I look pretty young for my age and if/when people ask me how it's happened I tell them "plenty of fruit and vegatables, exercise and excessive amounts of alcohol". It pickles you don't you know. Drink more and live longer but an apple a day certainly gives you an edge as well. Other than writing, I do all the normal things. Films, reading, keeping fit etc. And oh drinking booze is quite an enjoyable pass time, although no where big as it used to be especially seeing I've had a great little son, Jack, with Comrade Emma. It's a weird and wonderful thing being a parent. It's a bit like having a lotto ticket and the results not being out yet. Will my son be a famous rock star/DJ/footballer/artist/writer or will he work in an office like his poor old man? ;o) I like people who tell it like it is. But that doesn't mean telling me you're funny. If you're funny, be funny, don't waste your time telling me you're funny. That is just a savage cover for not being funny at all. Please don't do it. Ditto with popular, intelligent etc etc. I like funny people though, although I have a bit too much of a tendancy for being a serious ******. Having said that I tend to laugh at other people's misfortunes. Look at George Bush, he's unfortunately stupid. Look at the American people or at least the foolish 48% of the voters, they voted for him. Twice. That's funny although only in the dark sense of the word and really my sympathy goes out to them. Tony Blair isn't funny though. What is with that grinning buffoon? We know you're lying so please shut that rancid mouth of yours. Anyway what the hell else to say? I have no idea. I probably sound like a twisted freak or something but I am sure it's all good.
