[Lights are not present and the loud roar of a crowd is apparent from any seating arrangement. The beginning was supposed to have taken place minutes ago and many are contemplating a refund demand].
[A rush comes from the curtains as they halt at their most outward points. The crowd quiets down, as if at an instant. This seems to be the beginning they were waiting for. With that type of break in their thought and conversation, nothing short of the coming of a messiah (or two) would be worth their time].
[A small boy, of about five, emerges from the dark into a small beam of light. The light grows and his face becomes more and more so clear until his entire, though minute, body is illuminated] :Hey! [he proclaims with more demand than his age or stature should allow] What are you doing here? In fact, why is anyone really here at all?
This was me. I, from a very young age, spoke clearly and with much intent. My words were unwavering and people?? including my parents who somewhat hated the idea of their son being innately outgoing to the point of annoyance?? listened to me. Even if they didn??t agree, I had an undeniable presence. I had questions, though. I had a lot of questions. When I needed to, or wanted to, know anything, someone better have had an answer for me, or at least a segue to an answer that I could reason on my own. This is something that??s carried on and influenced my forward nature as both a writer and an individual.
