I'm a contemporary novelist and I like to use my own difficult experiences to add depth to my characters. Common themes in my fiction include dysfunctional relationships, dislocation, darkness, humour and redemption.
Having seen the rough side of Newcastle and London, my fiction has a distinctly urban feel.
