I currently work as a post doctoral researcher at Sheffield University, UK. My research is in bionanotechnology - the art of placing and imaging natures tiny machines, proteins, at the nanoscale (that's 1/1,000,000,000m). This is cutting edge research, rewarding and frustrating in near equal measure!
I write for fun but, that doesn't stop me wanting to publish my stories so that the widest possible number of readers can enjoy what I have written.
I am not yet a published fiction author but I do have a large number of scientific papers under my belt, I recomend our Nature paper as being very approachable to the non scientist (doi:10.1038/nature02823).
