I have been writing for a very long time, but have never taken it seriously or even aimed to get any better. Basically, it was an outlet for my over active imagination without any direction or guidance. Lately I have had the desire to improve and strengthen my style. To do this I have been giving myself “assignments” and grading them, as well as marking what I like and don’t as well as recording my motives and reasoning.
*The last part is purely selfish. I put so much love and time into my pieces that I would hate for someone like the stuffy English teacher I had through out high school to interpret them years later and suck all the life and meaning out of them.
And yes if you are wondering, sometimes I am commenting to myself. Don't ask, it helps me remember things.
