I have lived all over the country. I think I am in Arizona for a long time now. I had written some very dark poetry during my active addiction years. I thank God that I lost it all. When I lost it, and realized it was lost it was like I had a new lease on life. My work is still a little on the dark side but there are glimmers of light here and there. I used to write an op ed column for a college news paper. I thought I was hot stuff until I started paying attention to other poets and writers back in the late 90's. It kind of put a perspective on my life and taught me a little humility. Late last year I wrote some poetry. A teacher on mine told me I should publish and that the work was "profound." I am not so sure about that. I guess it is about time I got some opinions from other people to see how my work stands up to the work of the really talented people. I live alone with my dog and work in a psych facility. I am 45, dovorced and I like it that way for now.
