Sean M Whelan is a writer of prose, poetry and works for performance. He is the convenor of Babble, a regular spoken word event held in Melbourne. His work has been published in various literary journals and online magazines including Short Fuse (NY), Mod Piece, Going Down Swinging, Verandah and Normal Service Will Resume. In 2002 Sean was the co-producer of a CD compiling some of Melbourneā??s finest performance poets titled You Talking to Me, and in 2003 his first collection of poetry Love is the New Hate was published by Hit & Miss Productions. Sean was the co-writer and producer of Strike a Prose, a show for the 2004 Melbourne Fringe Festival incorporating spoken word with live theatre and multi-media, and is currently the Audio/Visual editor for Cordite Poetry Review. Seanā??s latest production is a collaboration between himself and local rock band The Mime Set. Their second show LCUK: Falling In & Out of Luck made its recent debut at the 2006 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
