Diana Norma Szokolyai is a poet, teacher, dancer, and visual artist. Her poetry and photography have appeared or are forthcoming in Polarity, Up the Staircase, The Dudley Review, Human Rights Institute: Human Rights News, and other publications. Her book of poetry and photography, Roses in the Snow, may be previewed and purchased at http://www.lulu.com/content/2531439. She studies creative writing with Pulitzer-prize nominee Kathleen Spivack and is M.Ed candidate at Harvard University. Norma has her Master's in French and wrote her thesis on a French Gypsy poet. She has experience teaching French and ESL to all ages in a variety of settings including the French public school system, immigrant outreach programs and Montessori school. Each summer, she directs a community service/language immersion/adventure travel program for American teens in France with Global Works. She is co-founder of Sounds in Bloom (www.myspace.com/dnorma), an international poetry-music-movement-art collaborative that creates interactive performances in theaters, concert halls, art galleries, and community centers. Together with saxophonist/composer Dennis Shafer (co-founder), they collaborate with artists across the U.S. and Europe, and give workshops to children and adults.
