I was born in Brockport, New York on January 6th, 1989. I have six siblings, one sister and five brothers. I have recently graduated high school and I have been consistently writing poems and short stories for almost a year now. Among my influences are H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, Bret Easton Ellis and more.
I write about many things, and much of my poetry and short stories contain elements of desire, black comedy, satire, etc. Strange thing is, there are some things that I have no interest in writing about or even reading about. Here are some concepts and such in novels/short stories/poems that I believe are either complete garbage or are just poor literary devices:
Mystery novels (All those best-selling mystery writers, most of whom happen to be females, coincidence I suppose, are only read by the typical housewife of modern America, and usually consist of rehashed plots and poor writing), any book that has cheesy (e.g. Hapilly-Ever-After) endings (Though I'm not against happiness, I just believe that an unhappy ending or even just a relatively neutral one is more rewarding in novels and short stories), the uncreative, lackluster and rather lame horror stories exhibited by famous authors such as Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Clive Barker, etc. More to be added soon, as its currently 11:30pm and my textual ranting is starting to make me drowsy.
