Scars on the heart

Scars on the heart

My heart is scarred all over,
With all the lies cutting every time,
The blood leaks away slowly,
Don't worry about me I'll be fine.

As the nightmares keep coming,
They are broken with fantasies of you,
You fight away the demons,
You're heart seems so true.

In the dreams you hold my hand,
You say you will never let go,
I wish you would whisper those words into my ear,
Let you're words of love flow.

But now the words of hatred,
Keep knocking me down,
Every time I start to walk on my own,
My world starts to frown.

The outside world is so scary,
I see you wherever I go,
I lock my self away from everyone,
Just to wait for you to pick up the phone.

As the cuts get deeper and deeper,
The pain goes away,
The sudden rush as the sight of blood,
Comes creeping every day.

My heart is scarred all over,
With lies cutting every time,
The blood leaks away slowly,
Don't worry about me I'll be fine

This poem is great! In an emotional way. You rhyme well which makes for good reading for all. Well done.

I really enjoyed this piece, particularly the second verse. I also like how you've structured the piece with the same starting part of the stanza for the first and last verse which worked very effectively. The thing i thik you could work on is maybe a bit of fine tuning on the third stanza the third line is a little long and ruins the flow of the piece a little as a result. Apart from that though a great job. Keep writing and rest well

Melancholy. I can imagine a little girl,
crawled up, arms on her head.
"The outside world is so scary,
I see you wherever I go,
I lock my self away from everyone,
Just to wait for you to pick up the phone."
Well done.

The only fix for a wound that runs to the heart is hope. Which will hurt a heck of a lot more to apply that wound than salt, and often more than the getting of the wound itself, but...

An effective, but tragically unpopular remedy. Gangrene of the heart is a much worse alternative though.
