Too late, too soon.
I saw him
But I didn't know him
He wasn't always there
I got a little older
Did he really care?
Working away to support the kids
Coming home when he could
Then he left because of her,
Who knew what was going on?
Did he really care?
Then I grew up and there he was
back inside my home
I got to know and love him more
Our feelings we found hard to show
But he was a loving caring man
Now we had time to share
Then cruelty kicked him
Work he had done in the past,
Would surely do him in
Only sixteen weeks
He would last
The dust had filled his lungs
And took away his breath,
My quiet loving dad
Too soon did come his death
My hero,
My best friend
Yes he really loved us
Yes he really cared

| Beautiful and heartfelt. Brought a tear to my eye. |

| Wow, that is poignant, I really felt it deep where it counts. I know this is something written from the soul and not something written "about" an event and it is very beautiful in a melancholic way. I wouldn't change anything. |
