Kinda Like the Pain

Lookin' through my window pane.
Locked out of my house again.
It's around four a.m.
and I'm standing in the rain.

It's funny how time goes by...
when your drinking doubles and getting high..
I don't know the reason why...
but I kinda like the pain.

So I'm standing, I'm standing,
I'm standing in the rain..
and I kinda like the pain.

I'm looken over at my cousin Jim.
Sixteen beers and a bottle of gin.
He's sleeping in my car again...
and I'm standing in the rain.

I'd sure like to get inside.
I know my sheets are warm and dry,
but I don't want to wake my sleeping bride...
so I'm standing in the rain.

I'm standing, I'm standing,
I'm standing in the rain...
and I kinda like the pain.

This rain will be my morning shower.
I hope the dawn is coming soon.
I clock in,
at six a.m.
I hope I'm sober by noon...

so I'm standing, I'm standing,
I'm standing in the rain,
and I kinda like the pain.

Lookin' through my window pane.
Locked out of the house again.
It's around five a.m.
and I'm standing in the rain.

I'm standing, I'm standing'
I'm standing in the rain...
and I kinda like the pain.

Another great song. Very visual. I see the guy, sodden high and drunk locked out of the house. Slave to the cycle because in the end, he kinda likes the pain.
We get addicted to our emotions, be they light or dark.
Nicely done

i like how this has a chorus and how you use colloquial language, verses 5 and 6 seem to stray from the colloquialism a bit, but it doesnt really affect the poem. the poem flows well and the ryme doesnt seem forced. well done
