Dreaming

I dreamt a dream where you were mine,
And everyone was doing fine.
Smiling like there's no tomorrow,
Laughing, you could feel no sorrow.
I talked to you and you talked back,
Walking down a weathered track.
The dirt under our feet meant nothing at all'¦

Don't you know?
I'd walk naked in the rain
Just to kill your world of pain.
And if I thought I could, I would
Do anything to hold you in my arms
Make everything alright
You belong to me tonight.

Then I awoke and you were there
Tears on your face, blood in your hair.
I tried to help but couldn't reach,
Your barriers, not mine to breach.
So I took to sitting in the dark
With my eyes I traced his mark
Wishing there was something more to us'¦

Don't you know?
I'd walk naked in the rain
Just to kill your world of pain.
And if I thought I could, I would
Do anything to hold you in my arms
Make everything alright
You belong to me tonight.
