They say she was touched by angels
they say she was born of God
she said that she was nothing
Just a human who was flawed.
They say she never wondered
They say she never cried
She said she always doubted
If the world was on her side.
They say she was their savior
They say they were her cause
She said she only wanted
to live life the way she was

She was never touched by angels
And she wasn't borne of god.
she always hid when she was crying
And when she wondered, she'd just nod.
She had never been their savior
She didn't want to save their souls
But they roped her in and 'cleansed her sins'
Told her 'it's in the scrolls'

They say she was touched by angels
They say she was borne of God
But they forced her into a half-life
and made her play the fraud
