Chamomile Morning

The day starts silently--
The scent of chamomile,
The heat of tea-mug,
The sound of breathing.

Later, I will be running,
I will be thinking.
Later, I will see you and smile,
But none of that is now;
Now is chamomile.

Breathe in;
I am empty.
Breathe in;
I am full
Of silence and emptiness,
Of chamomile,
The darkness of early morning light.
Breathe in.

I am not thinking of the day,
I am not thinking of you,
I am not thinking.

I am breathing.

Beautiful poem, and it really does have a calming effect. Nicely written. The words flowed.

Sometimes we just need to take a timout from the world and, "just breath". I know most will think I am crazy but it is kind of a sensual poem, love between you and the chamomile.

Very good. Light in tone yet, there are undertones of sadness, perhaps understated. The third stanza is exquisite. I like your style; it echoes the relaxing scent of chamomile (or something... lol).

Wow what a calming poem. I love the idea of not thinking at all until your cup is empty.
