I Choose My Final Thoughts Today, Switching Off With You

[cento]

I've been lying awake paralysed
By the buzzing of the television:
Animated mouths move with the volume turned off.

The room is filled with the filament fizzing
Popping, fizzing; though the strip lights burn
Themselves to fibres, and out.

Smoke trails from my mouth as if from planes
Burning and blacking my lungs,
Contaminating the air just like you do.

The ceiling fluoresces like luminous eels;
Fluttering like insects: a neon choir,
The instant fizz of methodical dust.

I'm waiting for Alice in Wonderland to
Retransmit me to my final scene today:
Ebb and flow, I fall.

it's great, I really enjoyed reading this, you give these common things like the Tv and the neon a more special part in this poem, a tiny part of your life on a usual day, when you have nothing else to do than just look at the ceiling... And I also liked the end, the way you finished it! Great work!
