Old girlfriend

I remember what she used to smell like,
How it would hit hard
Like a punch to the brain
Intoxicating
Arousing
Enveloping
Lustful afternoons
Of simple flesh
and the bite marks on her shoulder
made me want to stay for all time

And now?
Its gone
Time has cut through our lives
Its razor scaring our skin
I see her now
No more am I excited
Just awkward
glib
Where to start?
How to end?
the touch of old friends we say goodbye
and leave our youth so far behind
