WHEN THE DUST SETTLES

When the dust finally settles
We will talk not in riddles
About beggars loitering the streets
Who never forget their past

When the dust finally settles
We will not talk in whispers
About long queues for transport
Or a dollar for your passport.

When the dust finally settles
We will not mince our words
For no one will fight us with swords
As we will all belong to the same Lord.

When the dust finally settles
We will not talk of past differences
Nor discuss conflicting preferences
For we would need restoration of confidence.

When the dust finally settles
What we grabbed will be released
Share equally till all are pleased
And spirit of fallen comrades be appeased.

When the dust finally settles
We will not talk about sugarless tea
Nor talk of oil-less relish
Not even cashless banks
For the dust would have finally settled.

Your last line is beautifully, strikingly final. Great, great writing.
