Booze & Bathwater

Empty bottles & spent cigarettes litter the bathroom floor

The bathwater, cold & stale, drips from the sides of the tub & hits the floor with a
boom,
boom,
boom

I'm lost,
Dazed & confused,
Comfortably numb,
Or whatever song title you wish to tack to it

Fact is, I'm gone

I look down & watch my chest dive under the water & then quickly rise with each breath

Every so often I hear footsteps outside the bathroom door, followed shortly by a knock & a 'you okay in there?'ť

I answer back dryly, 'I'm okay.'ť

But really, I'm not

I just needed to get rid of them
I needed them to go away

I locked the door for a reason

I don't want social interaction
I can't purge these demons by talking about them

I need to drown them in booze & bathwater

we shall suffer, till death takes us...and when it's over, they will forget. Every fuckin one of them will forget.

Iteresting. I sort of know the feeling...except I don't drink. So I guess not....anyways, point is, I thought it was great. And the poem structure is really fun. Peace.

Great ending - at 1st I wondered why you used "boom boom boom" ... water doesn't make that sound. But then realized that after drinking, sounds can be amplified.
