cuckhold

All the love I've missed out on
chasing ghosts of what couldn't be
trying to resurrect something dead and gone
between you and me.

I never wanted to be disappointing
I never wanted to bruise you
So much sweet soul
it's the art of letting go.

You didn't need to hurt me
because I want to be free
you turned me into betrayal
I can't leave and keep my dignity.

You need to be wanted,
and I want to be needed
So much sweet soul
...in the act of letting go

the rhyme scheme in this is so natural you don't even notice when it shifts into non-rhyming. and yes, this is beautiful

Lovely, honest, painful. You convey a real depth of emotion in this piece. Certainly not a 'shitty' poem, as you called it. x
