Goodbye
*This song can be listened to at www.myspace.com/papersmiles*
I'm on your street on a Monday morning,
All the boys with their raincoats blowing,
In the wind on a windy day while,
People get into their cars,
And go to work
Standing outside the cornershop,
Packet of crisps and a coke in one hand.
Shopkeeper inside with his smiling face and,
Terrible jokes, we laugh,
Anyway.
And I stand in road,
I stand and think,
About all of the girls,
That I could meet,
And it gets me thinking,
"What makes you so special?"
And I think and I think,
And I think all night,
And I think if it could happen,
Well it just might,
And while my friends are giving me their sympathy,
I sit back and say "Well we will see".
The clouds are breaking, it's beginning to rain.
Raindrops are falling, beautifying the air.
The little kids are screaming and laughing,
I walk away, into the distance,
Goodbye.
Goodbye.
