Fates and Feats of the Nordic Gods

One-eyed Odin, all-knowing, all wise,
Loki the trickster, the thief of gold hair,
Ravens and wolves'eyes and ears of the gods.

One-handed Tyw and the jaws of the wolf.
Thor drinking deep from the dregs of the sea.
Serpent encircling the bowels of the earth.

Mortal and vulnerable are these strange gods,
subject to elements, emotions and death.
Despite all their power, these gods still can die.

Locked with the Giants in ever-deadly strife,
ended at Ragnorrak, the doom of the gods.
Urd, Skuld, and Verdandi cut the life threads.

Long gone are the days and might of the gods
Archaic, exhausted, their life's blood was spilt
The end of the old world, and the birth of the new.

Locked with the Giants in ever-deadly strife,"
never ending strife?
I have liked this type of poem since I was a child.

I wasn't too happy with that phrase either. I just couldn't come up with something better. It wasn't unending conflict/strife, so I couldn't use that even if I wanted such a cliche phrase in here. If anybody has any suggestions for replacing that part, I'd be grateful to hear them!

I like the rythym of this and the details about the Gods you've included. The only thing that hung me up was "every-deadly strife", not so much for meaning as word/choice or meter.
