tribute

you can keep all
your millionaires
i'll take good people
and someone that cares
my mother and father taught me well
they raised me good
though i never tell
them this and never would
i'm proud of who they are
i'm proud of what they did
and it may seem bizarre
because i wasn't a grateful kid
i love my brother too
and wish him only the best
i know that he'll pull through
i've got to get this off my chest
though we often argue it means squat
and it's a dreadful cliche
but what do you want me to say?
i'm grateful for what i've got

no one gets hurt when you tell people you love them. everyone wins (eventually).
