hunger is an illusion

h u n g e r i s a n i l l u s i o n

rising in my milky mind
like coral reef
beautiful and
jagged

s w i m m i n g i n s t i l l n e s s

stench of raw meat
odor of wet books
crawling through
time

t r u t h l i e s i n m o v e m e n t

i could just as easily eat
photographs or feet
as I could apples
or plums

t a l k l a c e s h a n d a n d s h o e

autumn delusions
paint gestured rumors
on the sky

i l l u s i o n i s a h u n g e r

wow! this is brilliant work! I love the interesting interplay of words, the way you've laid them on the page, how my mind just followed this without a hitch. Like it!

Wonderfully savvy work. The headings for each small section are very smart and give direction to your beautifully chosen words. Every line, every word is a gem.

I love 'illusion is a hunger'. We are always futilely grasping for what is just beyond our reach, never knowing that it is all just an illusion conjured up by our own want.
