The Search

Walking through the shadows
Of this misty life
Climbing over hills
Of youth and age
Strength and weariness
Of success and failure
Wandering through forests of thought
And fields of the unknown
Trying to find a beacon of light
An answer to the riddle
A sign
A symbol
Anything
To show me that I've made it

You write so real, always touching on something many people can identify with.

Really like this. I like the way you write. You've captured the thoughts of many people with this. Excellent.

I have felt this way so many times; you have put it into words beautifully. I also love the "forest of thought" image; it makes me think of how muddled the brain can get.

I like the opening line, for me it relates to the idea of walking through life unnoticed, overshadowed by the more outgoing, confident people. I don't know if thats what you wanted it to mean but I could really relate to that. Great poem.
