I Disbelieve
Follow me , stay close, don't look back
We're going to leave this place and
Abandon everything. It's all right
Everything will be right where it was
When you get back.
If you want.
Let go of everything.
None of it matters except
To the living
and life is just a point of view
Consciousness is just
One perspective, one lens.
Why do you worship myopically
Restrict your wonder to
The imaginings of others?
What about worshipping yourself
And then everything else
Because its all one thing anyways.
Everything!
What you aren't looking at
Is infinitely vaster
Than what you see
And its all valid
And its all irrelevant
Choose your stance baby.
Then shift it.
Letting go is an excercise
In power and control
Hanging on is a demonstration
Of fear and servility.
What do you know?
Prove it.
Prove it by letting it go.
If you can't let go
Then you can't claim to know.
Abandon your belief
It doesn't go away
It's still there
So why are you so fucking
Terrified of questions?
You're happy with exclamation marks.
They don't lead anywhere.
If you don't move my friend
You won't go anyplace.
Now tell me honestly
Deep in your gut
Down in the pit of self
That tiny core where
Our screaming ego lives
When you look there
Are you really where you want to spend forever?

Leaving the familiar is a scary thing. You make a valid point in going forward anyway. Cause.. why not? Interesting write.

i completely relate to this, and therefore, love it. it reminds me so much of a chapter in a book i've read. i have a tattoo on the back of my neck representing the concept of "letting go", which can tell you how important this idea is to me. great work!

I cannot find anything wrong with this as I have written similar stuff myself. Did you know, however, that religious fundamentalists love this kind of thing - it is amongst those who think this way where they do most of their recruiting, so I should be careful if you want to save your soul. The problem is in the statement about disbelief. Personally, I don't think anyone believes in unbelief, just, as you hint at here, we have only ego and angst at the knowledge that there is something just beyond the edges of reason we can't seem to touch. Keep looking!

Is that Kierkegaard I hear roaring in the distance? Man is free and responsible for himself. This piece is the personification of Existentialism. I can't find the words to explain how well I like this work.
