Why Smooth Jazz makes me Cry

Together they were a completed puzzle

But without him she falls to pieces

The way they were was beautiful'

Everyone agreed

A blessed union, a gift from above

A picture perfect model of two people in love

But now black words tumble

From his mouth aimlessly

Leaving dark clouds where sunshine used to be

And Peter White and George Benson

Have become

The soundtrack to her misery

Have you ever read Sonny's Blues by James Baldwin? It's also a great piece, you reminded me of. I like the flow of the poem its smooth like jazz. The way you bring together your "broken heart" and compare it to jazz is brilliant. Looking forward to more of your work, Sasha

I love the rhythm of your poem and the ending is magnificent. The whole poem resounds of a rainy jazzy afternoon. Beautiful.
