Adoption of the Star
We slept on the roof
Well, you slept
I gazed, enraptured
At the million tiny fingers of light
Blanketing the sky with bones
.
Your chest rose and fell
Evenly
And i was comforted by the stablility
But secretly, i wanted you awake
To whisper ancient lore in my ear
To dazzle me, with your
complete
disregard
for
beauty.
.
I named a star for you
One which i will never find again
but in that moment, i swear
we were infinite. you, asleep
Me, losing myself in ideas
promises that we'll never
hate each other.

This poem is beautiful. One of the most exquisite lines, I feel, is -
'I named a star for you/one which I will never find again.' Every word
you chose, was perfect, simply perfect! |

Very beautiful piece. You definately have a way with words and there were some great lines in there.
"At the million tiny fingers of light
Blanketing the sky with bones"
I loved that part. A perfect description. Nice work. =)
P.S. My bird looks like yours. |
