Motherhood
Today my mother took me back
to show me something I had missed
at the museum:
A statue,
all white and perfect
of a Mother & Child.
They were posed with their foreheads touching,
sharing a secret moment.
We got to look in on them without startling them.
"Isn't it gorgeous?" my mom said.
"Ooh yes," I said in awe, "Marvelous."
I knew what she knew.

At first when I read this it seemed foreign to me, thinking of my own mother who I never knew when I was little. Then I re-read it and thought of being a mother, here is where I can relate. Funny how a different perspective changes the meaning.

I too enjoyed the ending. Good work.

This may sound a bit poofy, but reading this poem, with dope stimulating the emotion processor, and what comes on - Circle of Life (cheesy I know, but true); I find myself feeling jealous that I will never know what you both know. Weird huh.

This is fantastic. It reads like a beautiful extract from a book I wish I could read.
