Thought Provoking Baked Crescent

A fortune cookie spoketh unto me
"The home is the chief school of human virtues."
Stimulating thoughts of probability within me
Being that:
Majority of families are dysfunctional
Misguided by one another.
"The home being the chief school of human virtues"
Implying to me
Human virtues are deceitful.
Disquised by ideal morals
When in the end
Presented by way of each others actions
All that matters is personal accretion

Great title. Glad that you've written a poem from an experience and explored the meaning with current state of our world without sounding too judgmental.

I have spent many a night pondering fortune cookie philosophy. I like how you use this poem to express thoughts - it's something different from all those poems that just want to sound pretty and present images.

This is wonderful, you are a voice of a generation that is witnessing the transition from what family once was to something unknown.
