The Modern Love

How do you know if it is truly love?  If the person you feel for isn't just another guy looking for a piece of ass.  I know many woman are put in this position each and every day.  It is just natural for us to wear our heart on our sleeve.  Every night my sister calls me up crying to me over the phone about this and that.  It always results in "Damn bastards can rot in hell for all I care".  I'm to afraid to laugh at this point or else I'd have to join them.  She asks me about certain things,  I know what she is trying to overcome and it is impossible.  After so many heartaches you become one royal hard-ass.
You just have to realize when you find the right guy, you'll know.  Every time I see my sister she plays up her role as a single.  Going on and on about her rendezvous acting like it results that way on purpose.  I laugh but inside I know she is throbbing she is covering her heart just as she does every morning to her face with her Covergirl make-up.  It is exactly like her routine.  She asks me if I am still with the guy I have been with for the past five months.  I want to say no just to make her feel adequate, but a yes seeps out of my mouth.
I think back on my past relationships know exactly what my sister is going through.  You give up on the attractive guys because you know you have know shot with them.  You have no more self-confidence, thinking there is something wrong with you that makes every guy turn there nose.  That answers my questions about girls becoming anorexic or bulimic and spending fifty dollars when they go shopping for make-up.  The natural look isn't good enough they need to transform into Mrs. Barbie.
I thought you just need someone to spend time with.  The one guy that trying not to make you laugh, will make you laugh.  The person that if you try to ignore him to get your way, you just go running to him.  The moment that when you look in his shimmery eyes, your heart simply melts.  That's what I thought love was.  Things change I suppose, but obviously not for the better.

if it gives you some how im 16 and still believe and act under the rules of (lets call it)"old school love" and not the modern one. I believe that make up is the synonim of lack of love.

Pretty cool story, of which I agree with Jay, reads like a blog. The content is very realistic and reflects the dillusionment sometimes faced with the dating game. A game fraught with unpredictability, ambiguous mind games and Machiavellian cheek. Excellent.

This seems like somewhat of a diary entry, or a blog. Your sentiments echo strong in the hearts of many, I'm sure. This is a good start into something you could develope into a powerful story of the 'modern love' and the games both sexes participate in just to find that special someone. Not bad at all...
