Two Bourbons, One Cigar and Her
Alone and loving it
Just me tonight
And that band over there
Playing the kind of music
You're not supposed to hear
Finding a corner
Whose shadow suits me
Another pull on my cigar
Provides ample defense
From ones more affable than I
Sipping golden brown elixir
Melting inhibitions - neck and neck with the ice
I like this place
Spine to the wall
It's dark
It's smoky
It's late
It's......her
Fuck
That scary, cool bitch is
Here
Looking right at me
Without uttering a word
And more than forty feet away
She's already inside my head
I need a break from
That sort of thing
I needed to need no one
Tonight
She's coming
I'll lose ground quickly, I know
Smelling whisky on her breath
Those stray wisps of hair that tickle her lips
In hours she'll be under me
By morning she'll be over me
I wanted only a bar
Two bourbons and a cigar

Joe:
My kind of poet! Very nice stuff here. Liking cigars, bars and women, I can truly relate. Especially to the desire to be by oneself sometime, digging on some great local band. Good style!

| Ha ha...good job. You took us there with you. What an unfortunate rut to be stuck in...powerless against the seduction of a woman. |

| Oh this was nicely done! Love the ending and the imagery. Could picture the bar, the smoke, the woman, all so well. I enjoyed this very much. |
