Hunger Lesson
It was five o' clock on a Saturday night
When I had a craving for something to eat.
So I called a friend, explained my hankering,
And we met at a diner by Grummy Street.
It was dinner time, the place was hopping.
We chose to wait 'cause the growling wasn't stopping
When the waitress called us, 'This way, boys,'
We followed her like kids who were getting new toys.
We sat at a table that was by the green walls
And ordered some drinks when she gave us our straws.
I watched another table with a really big man,
And realized that I wanted some cakes in a pan.
I asked the waitress if it was too late for pancakes
'Eating those for dinner is a terrible mistake.'
'Yeah right,' I screamed at the girl slash whore.
It was a little bit later that I whizzed out the door.
What did I learn on this Saturday night?
That several people just don't like to fight.
What else did I learn as I was stuck on the floor,
That this diner doesn't serve breakfast
Any more after four.
