Every night he fights
the will to fall asleep
the thought of missing out
on just about everything
the extra hug
the extra kiss
but mom I need a drink
night after night
the same type of dance
even though we pretend to be mad
deep down inside
we love the extra little time
especially the I love you mom and dad
so sweet dream's my little love
for they await you
