The Ripple Affect - Article III

The Ripple
Affect ' Article III

Why Me

Most of us have been
there.  We are walking along in our life;
we think we have finally gotten ourselves on the right path.  We make good decisions and thusly, good
results transpire.  Then, seemingly
out-of-the-blue, life turns upside down.
All of our good choices turn to bad.
Our path becomes obscured and we no longer are sure if this is the
direction in which we wish to travel.
All of our attempts at living a good and just life have been thwarted,
yet again.  It is easy to come to a place
where we ask, 'why me?'  The question is
not easily answered.  In fact, there
could be any number of reasons.  In
hindsight, someday, we may be able to see more clearly, but right now, in the
midst of chaos, the answers escape us.

Some people seem to float
through their lives.  Their feet never
seem to touch the ground and get dirty.
If they do something that might be considered wrong, they never seem to pay
for those actions.  It is as if some of
us walk around with lightening rods on our heads and call forth every strike
for every action, while others never see a drop of rain.  One theory we might ponder is by returning to
our ripple affect.  As certain people put
out energy, they do so with little, if any regard for how their actions might
affect another.  We all know these
people.  And still, they do not seem to
have any ripples hitting them and knocking them off balance.  Perhaps, and this is only a theory, they send
out such strong energy, with no worries about fall out, that it pushes out
forward with nothing in its way to stop it.
Remember that our ripples will continue until something else interferes
with them.  For the conscientious
individual, who takes great care not to impose his or her own will on others,
sending out one's own ripples is carefully done.  Think about this for a moment.  The ones who are careful and caring are not
putting out the energy that the selfish are sending out.  The scale is not balanced.

Many religions believe in
prayer.  Prayer is simply the sending out
of energy for a purpose.  The greater the
number of people sending out the same kind of energy, the larger the
ripple.  In its perfect form, all
individuals would be looking to create something good and right.  There would be no personal agenda.  However, we all know that humanity is
anything but perfect.  While some pray
for the well-being of someone others may join in the prayer, but have ill
feelings toward that 'pray-ee'.  We might
hope that the larger group would have the better intentions, but we cannot be
sure of such things.  Imagine if all of
the people praying did so with their own agenda at heart.  Not only would the original intent of the
prayer be thwarted, but also the damage that might be done could be horrendous.

People do not understand the
power of such energy, be it prayer, meditation, or even speaking words or
concentrating on something with great intent.
This energy does have the potential to change lives.  Sadly, few of the individuals who truly carry
with them the desire for light, send out the same amount of energy as those
that have selfish or hidden agenda.  If
you picture the ancient symbol, the yin-yang, you see one light side and one
dark side.  Each occupies exactly the
same amount of space, thus making up the complete circle.  In the yin-yang, there is no good or bad,
there simply are two sides.  If we can
momentarily put away our judgmental tendencies and see the behavior of others
as neither good nor bad, but simply of light or dark, perhaps we might enter
into the arena with stronger energy.
When someone sets out to get what he or she wants, few will say to
themselves, 'I'm going to take down so-and-so by sending out this kind of
energy.'  In fact, most of the ill in the
world is done in the name of goodness.
Most people never give a second thought to how their actions might
affect any other person in the world, not even those closest to them.  They are mostly acts of ignorance.  Put together thousands and even millions of
such individuals and the affect can be quite profound.

With so many people sending
out such energy, is it any wonder that the more gentle souls are constantly
being knocked off their feet by unexpected waves of trouble.  By following this train of thought, some of
us might be wondering why we ever bother to live a good life and care for the
well-being of others.  It would be easier
to join in the pool of these energies and ride the waves to all that we want in
life.  While we may be tempted, those who
walk the path of awareness cannot knowingly jump into the act with the rest of
the world.  This inevitably leads to our
lives being filled with constant chaos.
There are some of us that cannot walk contrary to our heart's
directions.  There are some of us that
must be true to ourselves, regardless of how much it leads to
difficulties.  That leaves these few
conscientious individuals on these paths to constantly deal with overwhelming
difficulties and sorrow.

We discussed how an object
in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force.  If this world is to change from what it is to
what it could be, then this would mean that there has to be some kind of
countering energy sent forth to disrupt the ripples as they are.  Consider for a moment what might transpire
were all of the lovers of light to come together and send out the same kind of
loving and healing energy.  We could stop
the ripples of the world and even change the direction in which things are
going.

Anyone who is of this spirit
may even wonder if he or she should consider such things.  Is this not the same kind of forcing our
wills on everyone else?  If our intent is
not in place, yes, it very well could be.
The self-aware know that before they do anything or make any decision,
they first need to check themselves and make sure that there are no hidden
feelings or agenda of which we may not be aware.  Is it any wonder why the world has gone to
where it has?  Those that could turn it
around take their responsibilities all too seriously, while the rest of the
world casts out their energies indiscriminately.  Thus, many of the prudent people of this
world are constantly in the floods of this other energy.  It seems a catch 22 does it not.  In some ways it is.  While we take the time carefully to determine
our intentions and to make sure that we are acting with the best volition, the
wild energies of the rest of humanity run rampant over us so that we never seem
to be able to get on our feet long enough to counter any of it.

Later we will discuss how we
might get out from under this constant barrage of energy.  For now, knowing that we are not alone and
that there may actually be a feasible reason for our difficulties can bring a
certain degree of comfort.  To all who
stand true and honorable, congratulations.
You deserve to know that what you do is extremely difficult and of the
utmost importance to the future of humanity.
Next time the question 'why me' enters your mind, you can know that it
is you because you live up to a higher set of standards then the rest of the
world.  Because you are one of the ones
who care and believe in something more then just self-satisfaction, you will be
hit with a constant onslaught of these ripples.
However, do not despair.  Before
we finish our time together, we will find a way to turn this world around.  Why you?
Because you are more then just a normal human being.  Why you?
Because you have a destiny to fulfill and the entire world is in your
hands.  Why you?  Because were it not for you, our world would
already be done and gone.

Yes...when it works. It's a difficult sell to humanity. ; )

And I'm with you...I'd much rather pay before then after. At least you know upfront what the cost is.

When it works (?!?!)

Neat idea (or a whole bunch of them).

I've got a list (somewhere on one of the computers around here, with what I've called "the seven Laws Of Purpose". One of thos laws is that "We pay for the event, before, during or after the event". Funny (business) observation: paying before is usually cheaper than paying during, and paying after can mean a price that you are not willing to pay, or would not pay if you knew the true cost.

It's not the Karma idea, but something akin to it, and, on course, it related to the "casting of bread on the waters" from christianity...
