Maria
Maria was born the 7th child, in a village in Mexico.
At thirteen her parents died and to a
Co-Co king she was sold.
At sixteen with two babies, she nearly died
from his drunken hand.
When she healed, she fled with with her children
and walked the desert sands.
She made it to the border and paid the coyotes their fair fee.
While waiting in the mountains, the coyotes forced her to her knees.
They took their turns, she was young and fresh and had babies to protect.
She didn't complain,...she just prayed her name...
It was the price she had to pay.
Maria...Will love ever find you?
Maria...Will love ever find you?
They delivered her to Houston,
and she made her way north.
She found a job in Witchita, waiting tables at a bar.
There she met a hispanic man who agreed to take her in.
She was pregnant by the coyotes...
A life made by sin.
Maria...Will love ever find you?
Maria...Will love ever find you?
All the while her baby grows,
This baby concieved in sin.
Another child that will never know,
The hell that might have been.
Maria...Will love ever find you?
Maria...Will love ever find you?
Will love ever find you?
This new man does not love her,
but treats her more than fair.
At night she often wonders,if anyone truly cares.
She only allows for the simple dreams,
and she's mostly satisfied,
but in her heart she wants true love...
just a little in her life.
Maria...Will love ever find you?
Maria...Will love ever find you?
Will love ever find you?
