untitled

Scared that I may have an effect on you
You carve the angry words
"Hate you"
With a plastic fork
On the Styrofoam lid of your dinner
Just to show me how strong
You think you are
How bold you must be
To put those words
Then write
I don't love-
And have me fill in the blank
With my name
With my name you make so dirty
With your angry veined hands
You sit there almost proud
Waiting for my reaction
But I don't move
I don't cry
I just sit and stare at those words
You have carved into me
"Sometimes I just want to hurt you," you say
Stabbing the fork through the lid
My name now little pieces of dirty Styrofoam
Littering your table

Damn fine piece of verse you have here. Punchy, poignant, and to the point, also love the visuals you present. Nice one.

This is excellent: the visual of the words carved into the styrofoam is highly original, and yet unsettling in a way we all recognize. Very nice style.
