The best times

Empty shell pressed to my ear
Hearing imaginary sea
Flooding childhood memories
Hansel and Gretel overly fed
Sock at the end of a comfy bed
End of the rainbow a pot of gold
Believing every story told
Tooth fairy
Leprechauns
Elves
Fairies
Trolls
Anxiously waiting
New tale to be sold
Are we ever too old?
Porridge pot
Spindle of gold
Cow to market
Has to be sold
Does it have to be seen to be believed?
Can't we be that really naïve?
Don't want to seem overly keen
Still waiting for my magic bean

Just recommended this to someone feeling "a bit blue" on the forum.

I've had it bookshelved from way-back-whenever and it ALWAYS makes me smile. So thank you once again - brilliant piece.

"Does it have to be seen to be believed"? No, not always. There are alot of things that are not seen but we believe or hope or wish or want or need.

Brilliantly written. I loved the empty seashell beginning and how you link that together with your childhood. Also, interweaving of fairy tales here was skillfully done. Great work :)
