your confusing

thats all she could say

as one tear fell down her cheek

which she didn't care to brush away

he told her he loved her

and she believed him

not knowing it was a race

and he was determined to win

she trusted him

he knew she shouldn't

he hadn't the heart to tell her

and inside he couldn't

he didn't want things to stop

he liked where they were

he liked having the power

he was a manipulator

he was drunk with power

he knew he had control

never fearing an uprise

but things had taken their toll

she was blinded by him

from the very start

she trusted him with everything

even her heart

but now things are over

she's happy and isn't sure why

after all is said and done

she barely even cried

she knew things were bad

so she worked up the nerve

she ended things that day

and gave him what he desereved

This contains a lifetime of experience. This was subtle in its approach and telling. Very easy to read for a subject that can contain many kinds of abuse. Very well done and I look forward to reading more of you.

This poem is similar and different to the one I wrote, Obsession or Self Preservation. I like that she gave him what he deserved. Women fall victim to mens manipulation far too much. I have not figured out why but I will. I really liked your poem this is the first piece I have read of yours but I have a feeling we might think alike. Ok, i am going now to read more
