Siesta

Flamenco

oh distant Barcelona

a melancholic gypsy

sleepless in her siesta

waking Andalusia

undisturbed

to a Spanish Fiesta

flirting past her bedtime

teasing Sancho Panza

stringed by the moonlight

accompanied by a guitar

echo of castanets

clicking high-heeled shoes

igniting conversation

breathless reverie

filtering her slumber

a passing Bosa Nova

sleepless in her Siesta

Cante, Baile Guittara

Distant Barcelona

Sleepless in her Siesta

OOOOH, May I have this dance, my lady? This poem was wonderful, perfect and had that rhythm that made me sway, made me want to grab your hand, take you on the dance floor and sweep you off your feet! and I agree with Leah, intoxicating indeed. Aahhhhh, this poem took me back to those great memories of times past when I held that person close...Bookshelved.

Ah if you pass me a rose I shall dance with you. Beautiful piece.
I love reading others, getting into heads and hope hearts open in the process.
You come from such a lovely island.
I too, come from an island. Vancouver Island, and will go home very soon.

Thank you Leah! It's great to hear from ya. Actually this one is new one I thought of sleepless in my siesta. I do love Bossa Nova. Glad you liked it.

How on earth do they label this a 414 word count poem. Joni, I haven't been commenting on your work, because I thought I had read these poems before. Perhaps you are posting them again after editing..I am not sure. I do like the Bossa Nova and the music filtering through this traveler's serenade. Latin rhythms are intoxicating. - Leah
