My Guiding Light

A beacon of light glimmers on the horizon
Its sparkling wonder catches my eye
Curiosity grips my mind
Slowly I begin to walk forward
As I approach, waves of energy envelop my body
Slowly my sadness melts away
Closer and closer, I feel no fear
It escapes me within streams from my eyes
The warmth cradles my body
Gradually the light takes shape
A human form it becomes
It reaches out and touches my soul
Renewing the life deep down inside me
Walking away, I float above the ground
My heart glows and shines through my body
The shimmering light travels atop my head
Following me along every step of the way
An undeniable harmony fills the air
My journey is just beginning
What lies ahead is unforseen
The path is long and winding, with many ups and downs
Where it will take me, I do not know
As long as the light is with me, I will be ready.

Strangely, this poem relaxed me. It was very theraputic to read. I love the idea of the journey beginning and the strong imagery of light. I wonder, is this poem truly about death or something else?
